Roaming Through Chinatown

This morning I decided to tag along with my Dad to Chinatown. He was on the hunt for a new tea kettle and I needed an excuse to not do my homework. So I thought, why not!

As I wait for my Dad I'm out in the backyard attempting to take pictures of my outfit. So I set the camera on the top of my stairs and did my best to pose while not falling flat on my face.

Uh...not ready yet

Still not ready yet

This is not going as planned

Ta-da! Finally!

I look to my right and I see my neighbor staring at me...

Chinatown

Walking down Chinatown always brings such nostalgic memories.

I've been going to this Hong Kong style cafe as long as I can remember. Love everything from the bakery to the baked entrees!

My dad found his kettle and I found dried pink rose buds and chrysanthemum flowers!

Can't wait to put these into some hot water!! These will spice up my green tea!

Stopped by a shopping center on my way home and found a full body length mirror.

A New Scarf For a Windy Day

From where I am from, it was the windiest day ever! The wind shook the trees and vibrated the windows. But worst of all, it was so strong it seriously knocked down my Barbecue! Now, I'm not an expert on barbecues but I know they are heavy. Heavy enough that it takes two people to lift.

Since it was so windy outside, I decided to wear my new scarf. Then again, I would wear one even though it wasn't windy. Scarfs are probably one of my favorite accessories. Not only do they complete your outfit, they keep you toasty warm!

Wow...I need to lint my jacket before I leave the house.
I'm also gonna look for a tripod, because its hard to take pictures of my full outfit when I'm out by myself.

I bought this scarf at Winners, its so soft and I love the color! Plus it was under  $15.00 How cool is that?

I know this has nothing to do with fashion, but I wanted to share one of my favorite hand soups. I'm so in love with this hand wash from Bath & Body Works. Here's why, its anti-bacterial. I am kind of a germ-a-phob, so anything anti-bacterial makes me happy. Secondly, its a foam soap. This makes it super easy to wash off  your hands and does not leave a sticky residue like most soaps. Lastly, the most important reason is it smells like fresh laundry. Yes, you heard me. It smells like fresh, clean, bed sheets that came out of the wash.

I seriously can't stop smelling my hands after I use this soap, ahhh! Someone help me! Lol

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed. Till next time =)

Fashion Week, London

Hey guys! Hope you all got a chance to check out the great fashion shows these past couple of weeks. This morning I managed to squeeze in a show while scarfing down my cereal and scramble eggs. I know, such an odd combination, but I need a hearty breakfast to get myself through Tuesday mornings, heck every morning! Can't stress enough how important breakfast is! So all of you who say you "don't have time," or your, "not a breakfast person." Make it a habit to eat something within an hour of being awake. It doesn't have to be a full bacon cheese omelet, toast, and pancakes. No. It can be as simple as a yogurt or fruit to go, like a banana!

Anyways, back to London Fashion week.

As I mentioned, I manage to squeeze in a show before heading to school. Well that show I watched was a good one, it was Burberry. This is a great collection, had a very country like theme going on. Lots of great heavy, thicker fabrics, made into stunning jackest/coats and skirts!

And the show ended with the models making a final walk on the catwalk, holding umbrellas to shield them from the falling snow flakes.

I found all my pictures here.

Thanks for reading! Remember to watch a few shows, they're pretty amazing...oh yes, and remember to grab that banana before running out the door!

Rock those Loafers!

After running a few errands with my cousin yesterday, we decided to drop by a deli/bakery for a couple of sandwiches.

I was told the diner has been open and running for almost 50 years! wow. I loved the vintage looking colored booths and that classic black and white checker floor. The service was amazing and the food was very good as well.

The Reuben Sandwich was pretty tasty. If you like a lot of meat, then you will love this sandwich.
I am the biggest breakfast lover. Since the owner of the restaurant said they'd let me order it even though it was past their breakfast hours, I couldn't resist. So I picked scramble eggs with salami. As simple as it sounds, it was so yummy! I will definitely go back for this dish.

I love loafers, they really grow on you. Definitely gives your outfit a more vintage vibe.
The loafers on the left are suede from Top Shop and the right are pony hair from Aldo.

Goodbye Christmas Tree, Hello Spring!

When I tell people I just took down my Christmas tree they laugh, is it really that funny? Okay, well I guess I am a little behind this year hey, at least I got it down before Valentine's Day.  I know, you're probably thinking, I am either a total lunatic or procrastinate like crazy! Well, I'm not a lunatic or at least I don't think so =) but I do procrastinate. Then again, who doesn't?

Anyways, the reason why I took it down so late is because putting it up wasn't very easy. Let me say, putting up a tree when you only stand 4'11" is not the easiest job, especially when the tree is double your size!

Lately, I developed a strong liking to Christmas ornaments. I think its the bright colors and how they are all so unique in their own way, like a little work of art!

Our family pet, Doree. She was sad to see it go too.

Look how amazing these colors are!!
 Till next year tree.

Found this really nice set of mittens. So warm, But I wont be wearing them till next winter, so into my closet they go!

Thanks for reading guys! Till next time.

A Happy Valentine's Day to Me!

Valentine's Day. A time where love birds declare their feelings for another or give their loved ones a reminder of how special they are. As sweet as Valentine's Day is, I usually don't celebrate it. This year however, I decided to spoil myself a little...

I couldn't resist, I bought myself a YSL lippy...

And a face primer cause I was running low!

Okay, and another lipstick, it was the perfect shade!

Gotta get ready for summer...

Water proof eyeliner, with a tip like that who could resist!

My favorite cotton pads and antiseptic wipes, definitely can't say no to this!

Okay so I guess I spoiled myself more than just 'a little' But I had a perfectly good reason too, right? After all it was Valentine's Day!  Fine I confess, technically I didn't really spent as much as you think I did. If you think I paid over $100 dollars for all these great products your wrong! If you think I spent $75 dollars, you are also wrong. But if you guessed $20 dollars you are RIGHT!

That's right, you didn't read wrong, nor did I make a typo. I paid only $20 for all these products! Wanna know how I did it? I used my Shoppers Optimum points at Murale. A few times a year, Murale has a event where you can redeem your points and they give you extra spending cash!

I redeemed 90, 000 points which gave me $170 dollars worth, but! because I waited and redeemed it during their special event, they gave me an extra $80 to spend!! It was great. Basically all I had to do was pay tax. Aside from what I bought for myself, I bought my friend who came along with me, a lip gloss, face wash, and the same sun screen as mine.

Shiseido Facial Cotton Pads
Preven's Paris Antiseptic Hand Wipes
YSL Lipstick - 2 Silky Sensual
Bobbie Brown Lip Stick - Pale Mauve
Stila One step Correct Face Primer
Stila Waterproof eyeliner

Its super easy and well worth it. You can start collecting your points at either Murale or Shoppers Drug Mart. There is always sales going on at Shoppers so its easy to rack up points. I usually like to shop at Shoppers when they have their 20X the points promotion. Its the fastest way to get points! So don't waste time go go go go go!!!!!!

Thanks for reading, till next time =)

Monochro-What?

Monochromatic
Monochromatic is having different shades or tones of 1 color. Like this...

I've always loved this color scheme. To be honest, I was never a big fan of the color blue when it came to clothing; event though I read somewhere that the color blue tends to look good on anyone. Its just a color that I was never really drawn to. But then last year I saw a top that had blue and white flowers on it, it changed my persepective of the color blue. Yes, I went gaga for it and bought it without thinking twice.

So, when I found the same blue and white flower print in a crop style top, it had to be mine!

 Front

Back

I really love this monochromatic color scheme. I think its more nostalgic than anything else. It reminds me of a Ming Dynasty style vase my Mother has, very much like the one in my first image. It would always sit in our living room, filled with pink peonies. I don't think I could ever get tired of this beautiful print.

Chapter 8: Manic Monday

Just like the song by the Bangles, I had a very Manic Monday. I woke up that morning knowing I had to finish ALL my seam finishes a total of 9 and I know nine doesn't sound like a lot but it is. Not only that, I had to finish all skirt, bodice, collar and sleeve gradings. On top of it all, I had to rush home and get dressed for dinner. Good news, I manage to get everything done! YES!

Dinner went well, I ordered a juicy prime rib dinner and was very satisfied, except it was a little over cooked but I let it slide. By the time I got home I was extremely exhausted but somehow summed up the energy to snap a few shots of my outfit. I didn't notice I was wearing so much gold accessories until I was in the bathroom at the restaurant and I have to say, it works!

What do you think? Did I over do it? Or is it just right?

This watch is actually my Mom's, I was good so she let me wear it =)
